carrieathomer on "New Page Template not working"

hi I am creating a new theme from Origin Theme

I tried to create a new page template from the full width page template.

Simple, Just copy and pasted and remove only the title to make it as home page template.

In the page editor, i can see the name of the new template but when applying the new template does not work. The page is showing up with the sidebar.

I tried all the methods from the below post

still not working, any help is verymuch appreciated

I am using wamp server and localhost for development
