Can I search and replace only the beginning file path?
Once changed will the remainder of the url stay the same?

For example:

If the original url is:
http://www.mydomain.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/imgp0114.jpg

And I search and replace only the beginning: http://www.mydomain.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads

Will the rest of the url stay the same on all the images? Will it be ok to do it that way?
