Add New and Editor under plugins works fine. It is just with plugins.php

Without a link to your site or it on 5.0 it is hard to say what the issue is. Are you using any caching plugins or host based caching?

I don’t like the new WordPress v5 update at all! The editor looks awful and everything is so disorientating. Is there any simple way for me to rollback to the previous version??? 🙁

Please make sure you have set correct permalink structure in WordPress, and then check the .htaccess file in the WordPress root directory (where wp-load.php is located) to make sure WordPress has written to it. There may be other things in the .htaccess file that might be causing this problem, but let’s first make sure the WordPress directives are there.

Also make sure that your friend has enabled .htaccess files in the main Apache configuration, and that WordPress has the ability to write to the .htaccess file in its root directory.

I am using hostby theme but do not like the fact that each page is entering text over the header picture. it has menu name, page title and website name all over the photo which is distracting. Is there a way of removing this?

Hi Samuel, Thank you for your tip, i already did that and on the editor the image get centered but when i publish the post it just stays on the left side.

Thankfully someone made a classic editor plugin and put a big smile on my face, i hope i will never see Gutenberg again in my life.

Why would you think SEO is that impacted by a theme change? if at all?

Yeah it’s really filled with bugs. It’s a shame. We had switched to ClassicPress for about 100 sites leading up to the 5.0 launch just to avoid it.

Glad the Classic Editor plugin solved your problems!

Changing the content (optimizing for SEO) is totally different than switching themes.
Perhaps keep the items to work on separate? And get a detailed list of actions to be taken before starting?

To be precise the link will work and open the page, but when I check the box to ” open a new page” this does not happen.

It opens the page and leaves my site.

Yeah, I have no idea, honestly. I have a lot of SEO strength and have talked to a few developers and asked if SEO will be lost. Some say no one can guarantee it won’t be lost, while others say it won’t be lost.

And when someone says it takes a month to work on the project, I just want to know, from a developer who has done these sort of projects, what occurs in that timeframe. What is actually worked on, besides switching over the theme?
